Highland Bowl
Aspen Highlands sector
The hike everybody comes to Aspen for. Twenty minutes on the Exhibition and Loge Peak chairs puts you at the bottom of the ridge; from there most people take around forty-five minutes to reach the 12,392ft summit of Highland Peak, with thirty to sixty minutes the usual range depending on fitness.
Inside the ski area boundary and actively avalanche controlled by patrol. Controlled does not mean safe: the resorts themselves are clear that control work reduces the risk without eliminating it.
