The highest mountain sits on the Polish border

At 1,603 m, Sněžka is the highest peak in the Czech Republic and stands on the Polish border. A cable car runs to the summit from Pec pod Sněžkou on the Czech side; from Karpacz on the Polish side, a chairlift goes as far as Kopa, at 1,377 m.

A national park on both sides of the border

The Krkonoše run about 35 km along the Czech-Polish frontier and are protected as national parks in both countries, together forming a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Figures describe Czech Republic as a whole, not just the resorts we track. Skier visits are shown only where a national industry body or two independent reports agree.
